The easiest and shortest way to Palestine was through the land of the war-crazy Philistines. God knew that at the very first sign of trouble the Israelites would back-pedal to Egypt. He deliberately led the Israelites through the wilderness instead. The long way was the best way to school them. He knew their state and the level of trials they could handle at this point in their journey.

Leadership Challenge

Instead of throwing people into the deep end, prepare them for the deep end.
